First Pres is scheduled to provide meals to 55-65 guests at the Red Roof Inn (1698 W. Diehl Rd, Naperville). Meals can be frozen grocer or restaurant (including caterers or other licensed food providers) prepared dinner meals, and the guests have microwaves in their rooms.
The Adult Education committee is responsible for organizing programs throughout the year, along with several fellowship events. You are welcome to get involved as either a member of the Leadership Team or as an Instructor.
Audio Visual Ministry Team
The A/V Ministry Team welcomes new members who are comfortable with (or want to learn about) audio or video recording and projection equipment, computers, and media content tools.

Buildings and Grounds Committee
This committee is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the church property. It also approves expenditures needed for property improvement.
Caritas Team Ministry
Caritas Care Team Ministry at First Pres helps those who have changes in their lives and need a little extra help going out for lunch, preparing a meal, holding an infant, taking a walk, reading a book out loud, making a phone call, tending a garden, or having a nice chat. There are a variety of ways to serve.
Caritas Meal Team
The Caritas Meal Team is looking for people who enjoy cooking, delivering meals or coordinating a meal team, which involves signing volunteers up to cook and deliver food to those in need for a month at a time.
Caritas Visiting Team
We have church members who are in need of a caring person to share his or her time chatting, doing a puzzle, reading a book, listening to music, or looking through photos. Join our team to experience the joy of spending time with a senior member of our congregation.
Kids and Youth Ministry Team
The Kids and Youth Ministry Team provides oversight for all of the programming for children and their families. If you enjoy working with children and helping families to connect through faith and fellowship then come join us! The team meets once a month during the week.
We are looking for people who would like to help expand our church's visibility throughout the community. There are two basic skills needed and one doesn't have to have both of them. The first is familiarity with the web and how to post information on a website blog or event page. The second is basic writing ability. However much time you have available, we would welcome your help.
Have you ever thought about serving your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ through Communion? You could help purchase and prepare the communion elements for worship services. If you are an active or retired, ordained elder or deacon from this church or previous church you attended, you could serve on the communion servers’ team.
Do you like to garden? We are in need of someone or a small team of gardeners to share in maintaining and beautifying our Celebration Garden on a rotating basis.
Gifts & Memorials Committee
This committee's purpose is to honor church members by their prayerful and prudent use of donations. Gifts augment worship, enhance study, aid in Mission Outreach, and add beauty and greater function to the facilities.
High School Youth Leadership
Adult leaders for the senior high school youth group (Westminster Fellowship) participate in many activities throughout the year, including an annual mission trip each June.
Human Resources Committee (HRC)
The HRC is an advisory group to Session regarding personnel matters. The HRC makes recommendations to Session on employee benefits, policies, conflict resolution, staffing plans, salaries, personnel budget and other personnel matters. An HRC member serves on all search committees. Session has delegated the responsibility for conflict resolution to the HRC. The HRC also conducts annual staff interviews.

Interpretation of Stewardship Committee
The Interpretation of Stewardship Committee works to help the congregation understand God’s call for the use of our time, talent, and treasure. This team develops and carries out the Church’s annual pledge program, provides material for the newsletter and bulletin, and delivers testimonials during worship.
2nd Thursday of the month • 7:30 - 9 p.m.

Mission Outreach Committee
Interested in learning more about the mission programs of our church? If you have compassion for people in need and would like to help plan and carry out these mission opportunities, give some thought to joining this committee. Music & Worship
Our worship experience spans a wide breadth of styles with no strongholds on traditional or contemporary. Opportunities in Worship and Music Ministries are rich and varied, from the Westminster Choir, instrumental opportunities, a worship band, to being on a service team. We believe in the commandment to use every gift and expression possible in celebrating our faith!
Office and Finance Committee
The Office and Finance Committee monitors and reviews all financial activity of the church and annually prepares the church budget for submission to Session for approval. As needed, the Committee prepares accounting procedures and policies.

The Worship Flower Committee
The Worship Flower Committee coordinates the weekly worship flower calendar for members who want to honor or designate flowers in memory of a loved one. We order the floral arrangements and place them in the Sanctuary each week.
Being an usher is a great way to meet and greet your fellow Christians. All we need from you is one service on one Sunday per month: come 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after the service to clean up. This volunteer opportunity comes with on-the-job training by your crew’s head usher and usher captain so there are no meetings to attend! Women, youth, men, and families are wel-come.
Visual Arts Committee
The Visual Arts Committee works to create new ways to visually praise God. Artwork, flowers, and banners help make the message more visual to experience God’s presence in our lives both in worship and throughout the church building. Members enjoy interior decorating, sewing, construction, flower arranging, and brainstorming ways to make things visually pleasing and we're always looking for creative people to join us!
Serving Our Community
Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center
The center provides comprehensive and affordable counseling, educational, mediation, group counseling, and marriage and family services.
In December, a consortium of area churches collaborate to share the Christmas spirit of giving to local families in need. We collect clothing, shoes, household goods, and toys to distribute to families from Wheaton and Warrenville district 200 schools. Six hundred families receive donated goods as well as one new toy per child and a box of food.
Our church invites over 100 families to "shop" in the Ministry Center. Volunteers sort the donations, prepare food boxes and assist during the distribution. Our mission is to provide a Christian connection to these needy families while we help clothe and feed them.
ESSE (Ecumenical Support Services for the Elderly)
ESSE provides adult day care - active, life-enriching experiences for elderly persons.
Exodus World Service
Exodus World Service provides friendship and assistance to recent refugees in our area.
Interfaith Food Pantry
The Interfaith Food Pantry provides food and personal care items to persons in need. First Pres collects donations in church throughout the year.
Reaching out to other faith communities in order to celebrate our similarities while learning, understanding and being compassionate about our differences.
Services to inmates of the DuPage County Jail are offered through Bible study, GED training, and one-on-one counseling.
Infants, children, and adults with severe developmental disabilities reach their potential with Marklund Charities.
NAMI DuPage (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill)
NAMI provides support, advocacy and education to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illness and their families.
Northern Illinois Food Bank
The Northern Illinois Food Bank helps individuals in need by providing food for distribution to local food pantries.
This ministry partnership with Outreach Community Center requires two home visits per month, providing companionship and assistance to isolated seniors in Carol Stream.
Outreach Community Ministries
OCM puts Christian faith into responsible action through holistic community service - providing counseling, education and spiritual ministries for children, youth and adults.
Roseland “Good News” Day Care Center
This day care initiative has provided Christ- centered child care for single, teen moms so they can stay in school. They provide diapers, milk, food, and clothing for the children and their moms. The moms agree to attend Bible Study on Fridays.
PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)
PADS provides education, assistance and temporary shelter for homeless individuals and families. You can prepare food or provide hospitality at our local PADS site.
People’s Resource Center
There are many volunteer opportunities to provide services to those in need by encouraging self-help, self-sufficiency, and self-worth.
Senior Home Sharing Inc.
This organization assists older persons in living happy and secure lives by providing family-style group homes.
First Pres provides housing for families in transition in our home on Madison Street. There are additional opportunities to provide assistance with mentoring and self-development goals, transportation, and maintenance assistance for needy families.
Serving Our World
This endeavor is dedicated to supporting Christian communities in the Holy Land in their efforts to promote peaceful coexistence among Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Druze. For more infor-mation visit the Abraham’s Children website.

These ministries provide funding for college campus ministries all over the United States.
Theological Education Fund
This fund supports all seminaries connected to the Presbyterian Church according to a need-based formula.
Supporting our local food pantry partners. Our gifts for the People’s Resource Center and Interfaith Food Pantry are a huge blessing to help feed hungry families in our community, especially in this time of need.
Meal Team Ministry
Would you be willing to offer meals to church families in need? We are looking for volunteer cooks to be on our Meal Team list. When the team hears about someone’s illness, surgery, new baby, etc., we offer them meals. As a volunteer cook, you’ll receive an e-mail with information about dates, dietary needs and addresses. If you are able to furnish a meal for that family, you simply respond to the email and sign up for a particular date. Almost 100 meals have been provided to First Pres families so far this year. Since the pandemic began, PADS has been operating by housing guests in three local hotels. With up to 115 emergency hotel rooms, and a need to provide nutritious meals for up to 150 families and individuals experiencing homelessness, this is an incredible opportunity for us to serve with our mission partner!

The Bridge, Mission:USA, west side of Chicago
• Mission:USA is a Chicago-based nonprofit nondenominational Christian missionary organiza-tion that helps troubled, disadvantaged, and at-risk people make positive changes in their lives, fueled by a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. • The Bridge, specifically, is a weekly program designed to help men and women coming out of prison. • The Saturday morning Men’s group has been serving and supporting The Bridge for several years.
