Adult Education "History and Theology of the Black Church"
Sundays, February 5, 12 and 19 at 10:30 a.m. Led by Dr. Theon Hill, Associate Professor of Communication at Wheaton College
Since its inception, the Black Church in America has occupied a prominent place within Black communities and Black religious life. Despite declining numbers, Black communities collectively constitute the most religious demographic within the U.S. In this three-week course, we will consider the history, theology, and social impact of Black churches in the U.S., tracing their impact from early colonial times to the present as a means of understanding the historical, social, political, and economic factors that have shaped this venerated institution of Black religious life.
Friday, February 10 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Join us for a sweet Valentine's Family Tea. We will have activities that everyone in your family will love. Enjoy some tasty beverages and snacks, crafts, dancing and a heart-filled photo booth! Feel free to dress up for our tea party. Sign up at: firstpreswheaton.org/TeaParty
