First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton has two separate podcasts available free through iTunes - one for sermons and a separate one for adult education classes.  You can subscribe to either or both podcasts, or you can download specific episodes through iTunes.

Alternate access to these messages

If you are interested in listening to one or more of the sermons but do not want to use iTunes to download them automatically, recent sermons are available in both Real Audio and .mp3 format from our Sermons page. The .mp3 versions can be downloaded manually each week from that page and saved to your computer.

The four classes presented by Dr. Paul Kirbas in 2007 and 2008 and the class presented by Rev. Elizabeth G. Walker in July 2008 are available in our adult education podcast.  Each session can also be downloaded manually from our Prior Adult Education Classes page.

• There are six .mp4 movie files from the class In the Beginning . . . . . . GOD.   Can Creation and Evolution Peacefully Coexist? presented by Dr. Paul Kirbas from April 22 through June 17, 2007.  Please note that these are large files to download - from 163 MB to 277 MB each.  DVDs of all six sessions are also available for checking out from our church library.


• There are four .mp3 audio files available from Dr. Kirbas' class, Dangerous Religious Trends of Our Time, which was presented June 24 through July 15, 2007.  They can be downloaded, plus CDs are available in the church library.


• Video episodes in .mov format are available of Dr. Paul Kirbas' class presented December 2 - 23, 2007, Navigating the Uncharted Seas based on his book on biotech ethics, Navigating Through a Stipulated Freedom.  Audio CDs of each of the four sessions are available to be checked out from the church library.  The episodes can be be downloaded in audio .mp3 format and in video .mov format from our Prior Adult Education Classes page.   Please note that the video files are very large - around 250 MB each - while the audio files are about 15 - 21 MB each.


• Four of the five sessions of  A Christian Response to the Climate Crisis, presented by Dr. Paul J. Kirbas June 1 - June 29, 2008, are available for download in mp3 audio format.  The class on June 15, 2008, could not be recorded due to a power failure in Wheaton that morning.  CDs are also available in the church library.


• The three sessions of Sanctification, presented by Rev. Elizabeth G. Walker July 6 - July 20, 2008, are available for download in mp3 audio format, and CDs can be checked out from the church library.. 

Why subscribe to a podcast?

With a free subscription to First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton's sermons podcast in the iTunes store, weekly sermons will be downloaded automatically to your computer as they become available. This service is also completely free.

The same is true of our adult education podcast.  You can subscribe to either one or to both free of charge.

Do you prefer to watch a video rather than read written instructions?

Step 1:  Install iTunes - To download our podcasts, you will need to have the free iTunes software installed on your computer.

Step 2:  Subscribe to Podcast - Once you have downloaded and installed iTunes, go to the First Pres Sermon podcast page in iTunes or the First Pres Adult Education podcast page in iTunes.  Once at that page, all you need to do is click on the subscribe button next to the photo of the church; and you will automatically receive each new episode as soon as it is available!

Please note that the links to the First Pres podcasts pages in iTunes may work slowly.  Opening your iTunes software before clicking the link may help speed up the process.  An alternative method for subscription is available at our podcast help page in case you’re having trouble.
